Preventive Action v/s Corrective Action
Like a busy junction with 5-6 roads meeting at my house has its traffic signal spoilt from that last one month. Its only now that a police is deployed during peak hours. What are they waiting for...for some accident to happen and then will they repair the traffic light? And why are their no police at non busy hours when the traffic is actually moving at high speed?
I guess that this is natural phenomenon, isnt it? Imagine...we too only take corrective action ..like when we fall sick we become aware that we need to rectify our lifestyle, food habits etc How many of us take preventive action to stop getting aliments? I am sure very few.
Beware of the cheating petrol pumps!
Today morning as I was dropping my son off to school I realized that my car didnot have enough petrol. I decided to quickly stop by at a petrol pump for a refill. I got out of the car and asked the station worker to fill Rs 1000 of petrol. Then I got into the car and opened the tank and kept a watch on the zero. Intially he set it to zero and filled the tank upto Rs 200. In the mean while the the guy transacting in cash quickly got into action to divert my attention. He started returning some change , although I had given him an exact amount. When I asked him why he said "Sorry madam..didn't you say Rs 200". In the meanwhile the person filling petrol stopped the meter at Rs 200. He then told me I shall give you additional Rs 800 petrol. He started the meter again from 200 and went till 800 and told me " Madam I have put Rs 800". This is their tactics...I told him he needs to give me Rs 200 more as he started from Rs 200 to Rs 800. But I have noticed that this is the modus operandi in many pumps. To fool customers and cheat them some petrol. As I was alert and protested they filled the tank with Rs 200 more of petrol.
So people beware and plz be alert while refilling petrol at petrol pumps!
